Homage to Amiata, the mountain of fire - music for Cello

We are happy to host in Merigar this evening of music by Bach and live improvisations with Bernardino Penazzi, cellist and son of an artist (his father Sergio Penazzi was an orchestra director and for a long time first bassoonist of the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan) who plays regularly with the Symphony Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome since 1987.

Cellist and son of an artist (his father was for a long time first bassoonist of the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan), Bernardino Penazzi has been playing regularly with the Symphony Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome since 1987, and among many had the good fortune to be directed several times by Leonard Bernstein. Also very active as a soloist, especially on the front of the historical twentieth century and the music of our time, he stands out among other things for his adventurous vein which often and willingly led him into the virtually boundless territories of free improvisation. He has collaborated with the likes of Anthony Braxton, Enrico Rava, Leroy Jenkins and Giancarlo Schiaffini, and among many others with the Swiss Daniel Studer and Pierre Favre, who wanted him in his European Chamber Ensemble.
