The old farmhouse we call the Yellow House (Casa Gialla in Italian, Serkhang in Tibetan) is the first place to stop at when you arrive at Merigar. This is where you’ll find the reception, where you can get information on guided tours, courses, and other activities. Many of the books published by Shang Shung Publications are available here as well, and a little store called Dzam Shop offers crafts imported from Asia and lots more. The Yellow House, which was already on the property when Merigar first came into being in 1981, also houses the caretaker (called Gekö in Tibetan) and functions as the registered office of our affiliated NGO, ASIA onlus.

The secretary is here every day except Tuesday and Thursday, from 9 to 13 and 15 to 17:30, to help you with information on courses, events, and guided tours.

Dzam is a little shop that sells Tibetan handicrafts near the town of Arcidosso in Tuscany, Italy. Dzam was born in 1995; everyone knew it as the shop at Merigar, the seat of the Dzogchen Community. In the early years, it served practitioners and visitors by offering books, ritual objects, and support materials for Buddhist practice as taught by founder and Dzogchen master Chögyal Namkhai Norbu. Over time, Dzam expanded and become a place for encounter and exchange among those interested in Tibetan culture, art, and crafts.
